Engaging Consumers at Connected Health Summit on Independent Living and Wellness
Following the fifth-annual Connected Health Summit: Engaging Consumers, Parks Associates research revealed that 34% of U.S. broadband households are interested in a form of health support service such as a personal coach or health data tracking app. The Connected Health Summit explored how consumers adopt connected health tools into home, healthcare, and independent living environments. Three categories stood out as points of interest: doctors or nurses remotely collecting health vital signs, an app or service that collects health data and works with providers to improve health results, and a personal heath coach that works to help improve health results.
Research shows that currently, 46% of U.S. broadband households own a connected health device and 23% own a wearable connected health device. 75% of those who own a smart watch wear it daily. Additionally, 28% of U.S. broadband households use a health, medical or wellness app. By capturing health data, consumers are increasing their personal health and wellness awareness. 50% of caregivers are especially interested in smart home technology that allow for extended independent living.
